Nesting begins with recognizable elements, a bird, a nest, eggs, flowers, and an expanse of blue sky, but brings them together in a space that feels slightly surreal. A dense, heavy nest seems to float on delicate branches and flowers, while changes in scale create a slight sense of unease within an otherwise familiar scene. The sky is made from layers of collaged paper in different blues, whites, and levels of transparency, creating an atmosphere around the more defined foreground elements. Together, these shifts in scale, weight, and atmosphere turn a familiar scene into something slightly unexpected.
